Dear parents!

As members of the Kert-Bent team, our aim is to support the education of children on the importance of biodiversity, through active and personal experiences.
Our team – Enikő, Dóri, Dorisz, Matyi and Borcsi – came to being from: five determined youngsters who joined forces from the fields of environmental studies teaching-, pedagogy-, design-, and international studies in order to make this project possible with the support of the European Union’s Solidarity Project and the National Youth Council (NIT).
We aim to help children experience nature’s closeness where they spend most of their time at school: in their classroom. We wish the whole class to be able to grow their own mushrooms with the use of an easy-to-assemble indoor mushroom garden. Together with our team, children can build this garden while learning about biodiversity and climate change in the best way possible of their age. Every tool and compartment is provided by us for the garden to be built. All this is supplemented by education about the environment and sustainability using our forehand experiences.
We want to let you know that during these courses children will encounter oyster mushrooms. Through preceding consultations with experts we were assured that while and after growth the mushrooms do not emit any allergens, they are completely safe for children.
However, we would like to ask you to please let us know in advance, if your child is allergic to oyster mushrooms through the contact teacher or class teacher!
We will do everything in our power to grant a safe and experience-filled atmosphere for children to attend the workshop. Furthermore, we are truly thankful for your trust in advance!
